Japan extends 86,021 US dollar for school hostel

The Government of Japan has extended financial assistance of 86,021 US dollar equivalent to Rs. 5,410,000 to the Himalaya Area Conservation and Development Committee for the construction of Buddha Primary and Secondary School Hostel in Gorkha district.

The assistance was extended under the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP) scheme of the government of Japan for the japanese fiscal year 2007, said a press release issued by Japanese Ambassy today.

Ambassador of Japan to Nepal Tatsuo Mizuno and President of Himalaya Area Conservation and Development Committee Dhan Bahadur Gurung signed a letter of contract.

According to the press release, the grant will be utilized for the construction of  four hostel buildings and one dining block with a view to provide accommodation facilities for 120 students.
