A meeting of Joint Monitoring Coordination Committee (JMCC), composed by the representatives of the UN, Communist Party of Nepal-Maoist (CPN-M) and Nepal Army (NA), which has begun Monday at Lalitpur has ended inconclusively.
According to NA representative Brigadier General Shiva Ram Pradhan, the three hour long meeting which started at 11 this morning discussed the second phase of the verification and registration of Maoist PLA fighters and arms but failed to make any progress.
The meeting had discussed the second phase of registration and verification that CPN-M had refused citing impasse in the political process, and poor living conditions of combatants - an obligation of the government.
In the previous JMCC meeting, Maoist representatives said they would allow verification immediately after the political impasse is broken and the government fulfills the physical requirements at the cantonments.
