Kapilvastu riot victims return home

After getting assurance of security and materialistic support, displaced people of Kapilvastu riots have begun to return home. A district level multi-party meeting held on Saturday assured security to them.

According to the agreements reached in the meeting, at least 160 families, who were languishing at temporary camps, are set to return home today.

According to Chief District Officer Beni Madhav Gyawali, District Development Committee agreed to provide materials for roofs. Similarly, local administration and seven parties agreed to guarantee security.

At least 14 were killed leaving an estimated 500 displaced in the Kapilvastu riot on September 17.
