The electricity supply has been cut in Lamjung- based  4-MW Khudi hydropower project for last three weeks. The resumption of electricity supply is still to take a few days.

The electricity supply has not resumed even after three weeks of power cut. Electricity was cut since September 9 after flood entered inside the intake of the project.

At least 30 workers have been involving in clearing the intake daily, however, it will take still a few days to take out sandstone, said Project engineer Ramraj Sharma. Due to the obstruction in power supply, the project has been facing daily loss of more than three hundred thousand rupees after the fold hit the project.

The people of Lamjung, Tanahun and Gorkha districts have been facing load shedding due to theh power cut.

The Khudi Hydropower Project has been built on the Khudi River of Lamjung district.

The Khudi Hydropower Project was first identified as a possible project for hydropower development in a study conducted by Nepal Electricity Authority(NEA) and GTZ - Germany in 1993. The project had started to supply electricity since September 30, 2006
