Nepal Police has released Pankaj Jha who was arrested in Saptari in connection to his alleged role in assisting Indian kidney transplant racket Dr. Amit Kumar.
The police has said that Pankaj was released as no evidence of his assistive role to Amit Kumar was found. Chief of the Metropolitan Police Crime Division, Upendra Kanta Aryal said Pankaj was released in bail after no concrete evidence of his involvement in assisting kidney racket Amit Kumar was found.
Pankaj, a resident of Birpur-5 in Saptari was arrested on Thursday. Pankaj is learnt to be an employ of Save the Children.
Pankaj had met with Amit Kumar and his assistant in hotel Radisson some three months back. Police had said that Amit Kumar provided Rs. 1.5 hundred thousand to Pankaj to initiate the process of 'establishing branch office' in Nepal during the meet. Pankaj had also given his company to Amit when he has living in Sauraha of Chitawan.
Police said it was found after investigation that pankaj left Amit Kumar when he suspected over Amit.
