Home Minister Krishna Prasad Sitaula on Monday said that the government would form the Industrial Security Force in order to look into the security of the industrialists and businessmen.
Minister Sitaula gave this assurance while speaking at the 41st General Assembly of Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FNCCI). His assurance followed the severe criticism by businessmen that the government failed to provide security to them and demand that they be allowed to keep revolvers for their safety.
Minister Sitaula informed that the government was making necessary preparations to constitute a separate Industrial Security Force to look into the security of the industrial sector. “We are discussing with the finance ministry about its structure and budget needed for this.” he added.
At the assembly, the private sector businessmen strongly stressed that extortion and similar terror activities of the Maoist affiliated Young Communist League (YCL) and trade unions should stop immediately as they are greatly hampering the industries and businesses.
