The Agriculture and Cooperative Committee of the interim parliament has directed the government to form a high-level commission to resolve the problems seen in land management.
The committee’s meeting on Wednesday had directed the government to immediately form a commission as per the earlier commitment. Minister for Land Reforms and Management Jagat Bahadur Bogati expressed his commitment of implementing the direction at the earliest.
Earlier, some six months ago, the government had reached a 5 point agreement with the agitating Rights Concern Group and National Land Rights Forum on forming a high level land commission. But after the government failed to implement the agreement, the two groups had been protesting the offices of the eight parties and the Prime Minister’s Baluwatar residence.
