Disappointing from the Nepali Congress's denial in implementing the full proportional electoral system and proceeding to proclaim the republic, the leftist parties in the interim parliament have decided to review the achievements of the interim government during the past years as well as to reconstitute the government.
The meeting of the leftist parties held on Friday decided to raise the issue of reconstituting the government in the meeting of seven party alliance if Nepali Congress (NC)-led government dally to address the parliamentary directives of adopting the full-proportional electoral system and proceeding to proclaim the republic.
It is also learnt that the same issue was also discussed in the meeting between the top leaders of NC, CPN-Maoist, CPN-UML, and Unity Centre Masal held at the Peace and reconstruction Ministry on Friday evening.
“The first issue we discussed was about the implementation of proposals on republic and PR election system.
The second issue was the one regarding the integration of two armies. And, we also discussed about the reconstitution of cabinet,” said Maoist Chairman Prachanda.
The meeting, however, was learnt to have ended inconclusively regarding the long existing political stalemate.
