Anti-Leprosy Day observed in Nepal

55 th International anti-leprosy day is being observed in Nepal with different programmes. Delivering a message on the occasion, Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala today said no Nepali would have be suffered lifetime for being infected with leprosy   as  Nepal has already done a lot in science and technology.

The PM has also said Nepal could be brought in the status of leprosy-eradicated country if the negative attitude and fear on leprosy would end.

Minister for Health and Population Giriraj Mani Pokhrel, in a message, also said Nepal government was actively working for leprosy eradication.

Some 150,000 people are reported to have been rehabilitated in Nepal after the treatment of leprosy.
