Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has said that his government was ready to provide support in establishing peace in Nepal and in election to the constituent Assembly (CA) polls.
He expressed Indian support in the meeting with Nepali politician's team led by Secretary General of CPN-UML Madhav Kumar Nepal on Tuesday.
Leaders Bharat Mohan Adhikari and KP Sharma Oli were also present in the meeting.
UML stalwart Nepal said they discussed on bilateral issues, the ongoing peace process, economic and political assistance, among others in the meeting. Nepal added that he thanked Indian government and Indian people for their cooperation during the Jan Andolan in Nepal. He further said PM Singh was of the view that it was upto Nepali people to decide on the fate of monarchy and that India would always be supportive of the decisions taken by Nepali people.
In the meeting, Indian PM Singh also expressed that the unity between the eight parties was indispensable for the institutionalization of democracy in Nepal. The PM also expressed commitment to continue assistance India has been providing to Nepal.
The central leader of UML including KP Oli and Bharat Mohan Adhikary had left for the Indian capital Monday after the meeting of the south-eastern Members of Parliament in Shimla.
