Minister for Local Development and Maoist leader Dev Gurung has said his party reached conclusion to announce republic from the street as Prime Minister didn't prepare himself to declare republic from the parliament. Minister Gurung also disclosed that the PM had denied their proposal of declaring republic from the parliament during the meet with Maoist leaders.
Speaking at face to face in reporters club on Saturday, Minister Gurung said that there was no other option than to hit the street as the PM remained deaf to their demands. "We will declare renunciation from the government on September 18 from Khula Manch (open air theatre) "- minister Gurung added.
Asked why the Maoist was impatient to wait a few more days as suggested by the PM, minister Gurung said "We can’t wait, we quit the government and go into movement." Minister Further said all the agreement from 12 points would be broken down once they quit the government, however, cease fire would not be broken down.
Minister Gurung also claimed that the series of bomb explosions in the capital a few days back was the proof of king's conspiracy to disrupt the Constituent Assembly (CA) polls.
Stating that the unity could not function as per the people's aspiration in the past, the minister argued new grounds should be sought to keep on eight party unity.
