Maoist leadership and relatives of slain businessman Ram Hari Shrestha Tuesday signed a seven-point agreement. After signing of the agreement, agitating side has withdrawn all its struggle programmes.
Businessman Shrestha was killed by Maoist People's Liberation Army (PLA) of Shaktikhor cantonment after severely beaten up.
The agreement paper was signed at Maoist Chairman Prachanda’s Nayabazaar residence. In the agreement paper, the Maoist have committed to take action against those involved in the murder including, PLA third division commander Kali Bahadur Kham ‘Bibidh’, Govinda Bahadur Batala, Keshav Adhikari ‘Raghu’ and Ganga Ram Thapa, Reporters Cub chairman Rishi Dhamal informed.
Maoist Chairman Prachanda also committed to stop such incidents in the days to come.
The Chairman has also expressed his commitment to provide Rs 2 million as relief to late Shrestha’s family. Ram Hari’s wife Ramal signed the agreement on behalf of Shrestha’s family.
The Maoist have regretted the murder in the agreement and also mentioned that the PLA third-division’s charges on late Shrestha of stealing money were erroneous.
Following excessive pressure, body of Ram Hari Shrestha was recovered on Sunday.
After the written commitment of the Maoist, Shrestha’s relatives had agreed to receive Shrestha’s body.
