The Communist Party of Nepal-Maoists (CPN-M) ministers on Thursday have announced their joint resignation form the interim government.
According to reports, five ministers including two state ministers have offered their resignation to pave the way for formation of a new government. Prachanda on behalf of the ministers would forward the resignation to the Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala.
The seven ministers who resigned are Krishna Bahadur Mahara, Minister for Information and Communication, Hisila Yami, Minister for Physical Planning and Works, Pampha Bhusal, Minister for Women, Children and Social Welfare, Dev Gurung, Minister for Local Development, Matrika Yadav, Minister for Forest and Soil Conservation, Padam Rai, Minister of State for Physical Planning and Works, and Nabin B.K., Minister of State for Local Development.
Meanwhile, talking to journalists in a programme in capital on Thursday, senior CPN-M leader Dr. Baburam Bhattarai said that PM Koirala agreed to step down within a few days.
