Calling on Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala, the envoys of seven European countries have expressed their concern over Nepal's political situation on Wednesday at PM’s residence official Baluwatar.
A delegation of European envoys led by British Ambassador to Nepal Andrew Hall conferred with PM Koirala and offered suggestions to speed up the peace process by resolving the differences among the political parties.
The envoys are reported to have expressed concern on the situation of political stalemate in the country specially after the suspension of Constituent Assembly (CA) polls. A Source said they also expressed anxiety over the fate of Maoist combatants taking shelter inside the cantonments.
In the meeting Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala said the government would set new date of CA polls soon after the discussions with political parties.
Premier Koirala said that he would also review the implementations aspects of comprehensive peace accord. The Pm also assured the envoys that seven party unity would not break.
Quoting PM Koirala as saying, foreign affairs advisor of the PM, Dr. Suresh Raj Chalise said he (Koirala) would urge Maoist to implement comprehensive peace accord.
The European envoys are reported to have suggested PM Koirala to provide security to people and include minorities in political, social and economic reformation.
