The government has prohibited holdings of any program of Madheshi Janadhikar Forum (MJF) in some districts of Terai. The government has also instructed local district administrations to have surveillance into the activities of MFJ.
The Home Ministry is learnt to have instructed local administrations of Rautahat, Siraha, Jhapa and Morang districts to prohibit any MJF program such as gatherings, mass meetings, sit ins and other demonstrations to avoid possible raids.
The security situation has been tightened in those districts. The district administration of Morang has clamped prohibitory orders for four days to beginning from Saturday to contain the possible violence. The administration clamped curfew to prohibit MJF's mass gatherings scheduled in Biratnagar on Saturday.
Similarly, local administration of Siraha has also issued curfew order in Golbazaar area of Asanpur Village Development Committee from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm on Saturday.
The CPN-Maoist has been demanding to ban the MFJ after the killings of at least 28 people in Gaur of Rautahat district.
