Finance Ministry releases Rs. 2 billion for CA polls

The Finance Ministry has released Rs. 2 billion for the security arrangement for the Constituent Assembly (CA) elections scheduled for 10 April. The Ministry  has also said  the government has adequate budget required for the elections.

Finance secretary Vidhyadhar Mallik said the ministry could provide the sum as demanded by the Election Commission any time. He also said that beside using allocated fiscal budget, the fund was also being raised through national peace fund.

Secretary Mallik also said the government was holding interactions with the donors for budgetary support. He also claimed that some 60 billion rupees could be funded by donor communities once CA elections would be held.

Home Secretary Umes Prasad Mainali said that Nepal Army mobilization was not necessary for election purpose as the government was deploying over 22 thousands armed police and 43 thousands Nepal Police.
