A senior leader of the Communist Party of Nepal – Maoist (CPN-M) has said that they (Maoists) are not seeking the alternative of the Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala.

Talking to an interaction programme organized by the Reporters Club in Kathmandu Friday, polit bureau member of the CPN-M, Mohan Baidya “Kiran” clarified, “We never said Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala should step down”.

Kiran further said that his party questioned the Prime Minister as he (PM) was not sensitive towards the progressive political change in the country. Though the country has stepped towards new era but the Nepali Congress party is still not change, he said.

“If Nepali Congress is true capitalistic party then it should immediately support the agenda of republic”, Kiran said “We haven’t fully assured that Prime Minister would hold the constituent assembly elections.

Stating that the eight parties should strengthen their unity in this critical phase of history, the Maoists leader said eight parties should wipe out the differences which could plague the objective of the nation- holding the CA polls.

Similarly, Kiran said it is not the left-parties who are sidelining the Nepali Congress rather Nepali Congress is sideling the left-parties.
