The discussions held between Nepali Congress (NC) and CPN-Maoist to sort out the existing political impasses has ended inconclusively after the NC denied adopting full-proportional electoral system.

After the NC's denial to go for the full-proportional electoral system, the Maoist had proposed to finalize debated issue through the roundtable conference of all the marginalized communities as well as the political parties. However, the NC even denied the proposal too.

Emerging from the meeting, NC Acting President Suhil Koirala informed that the NC never could consent to the proposal of adopting full-proportional electoral system. Koirala however, said Nepali Congress was committed to proclaim Nepal as a republican state.

According to the Chairman of CPN-Maoist Prachanda, both of the parties discussed the issues of integration of People's Liberation Army and Nepal Army.
