Nepal Investment Bank Limited (NIBL) is going to raise fund of Rs. 2.5 million for the Patan Durbar Heritage Conservation. The bank has organized ' 1st NIBL Annual Marathon 2007' on coming Saturday (17 March) to raise this fund.
The bank said the event would promote the sports and would also contribute for the conservation of national heritage. The sum would be raised from voluntarily donated amounts by various organizations and individuals.
Informing to the media people about the event, chairperson of the NIBL, Prithbi Bhahadur Pande said the Marathon is the part of social responsibility stating that the bank would collect total Rs. 5 million including the amount to be provided by World Monuments Fund, USA.
Chairperson Pande also said the NIBL's total support and contribution to heritage and sports has been to the tune of Rs. 3.1 million and 81 thousand since the Nepali Management took over the Bank in 2002.
According to the press release issued by the bank, 21 kilometers Run competition will be played in Professional, Amateur and Foreigners/Expatriates categories and 10 kilometers Run competition will be played in Ladies and Financial Institutions category (Male).
Similarly 5 kilometers Run will include School Children (Male) and School Children (Female) category while 1 kilometer Run will include Handicapped Category.
The total prize money for the event is Rs. 5 hundred thousands which is the highest prize for a marathon run in Nepal.
