The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index on Tuesday set yet another historic high record of 1,102.1 points with a growth of 26.76 points or 2.49 percent in a single day transaction.
The three-hour session of the Nepse floor on Tuesday suspended its transactions within one hour as the Nepse registered an increase by more than 25 points.
The sensitive index has also posted a growth of 7.82 points or 2.72 per cent to 294.91 points.
The Nepse witnessed 191 transactions with a total turnover of Rs 423.72 million on Tuesday. The total market capitalization has reached 4,25,708.88 millions.
Nepal SBI Bank Ltd took a lead with its per share unit price increasing by Rs 166 followed by Standard Chartered Bank Nepal Ltd's per unit share increase by Rs 139.
Commercial banks group registered a growth of 37.13 points or 3.28 percent to 1168.28 points, whereas development banks group gained 12.57 points or 0.85 percent to 1497.96 points to push the index up.
The Nepse index had broken all past records on Monday registering 1,075.34 points. Earlier, the Nepse had reached 1,064.09 points on December 17, 2007.
