The Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) index this week gained 22.73 ponits to close at 754.91 points from last week’s closing of 732.18 points.
The data of Nepse shows that the market witnessed total turnover of Rs. 442.5 million with transactions of 441,903 units of shares over the week. During the previous week, a total of 385,655 units of shares were traded for a turnover of Rs. 353.1 million.
According to the Nepse, the floor opened with green signle on Sunday with gain of 18.53 points. Monday it gained 15.05 points to rise to 761.67 points on Tuesday. However, it dipped on Wednesday and Thursday.
Bank of Kathmandu with Rs 88.43 million, Siddhartha Bank with Rs 44.48 million, Standard Chartered Bank Nepal with Rs 31.60 million and Sanima Bikas Bank with Rs 27.92 million and Nepal Investment Bank with Rs 23.07 million were top scorers.
The sensitive index of the companies listed under 'A' category this week lost 0.69 points to close at 198.48 points.
In terms of numbers of share units traded, Bank of Kathmandu topped the chart with 43,000-unit shares while in terms of number of transactions Prabhu Finance topped the chart with 421 transactions.
