The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has increased the power cut duration to 16 and half hour per week to be effective from Wednesday.

According to the NEA, it will impose load shedding of 3 hours for one day, 2 and half hours for 3 days and 2 hours for three days.

NEA extended power cut duration showing the reasons of decreasing water level of Kulekhani reservoir and insufficient electricity generation. NEA also said that the 132 KV of power being imported from Kataiya-Duhabi transmission line has been destroyed by Saptakoshi River.

Earlier, NEA had been imposing 4 hours of power cut per week.
