To maintain smooth fuel supply during the period of Constituent Assembly (CA) elections scheduled for April 10, Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has built up enough stock.
The stock will meet the demand for al least seven days, said NOC official.
The volume of stock, however, is less than what the corporation had initially planned to maintain due mainly to the rise in demand of fuel in the market, ekantipur quoted Digambhar Jha, managing director of the corporation as saying.
The report further said in order to build the stock, the corporation had requested the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) to supply it with 90,000 KL of fuel in March, which is 15,000 KL more than what it imported in February.
The corporation is presently receiving 3,600 kiloliters of oil a day. From what it received, officials said the corporation has been storing 600 KL and distributing the rest in the market.
