National Planning Commission approves three year interim plan

National Planning Commission (NPC) has approved draft of the three-year interim plan on Monday.

A meeting of the NPC held in the presence of president of NPC and Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala.

On the occasion, Prime Minister Koirala expressed happiness over the three year plan brought with a long term thinking to build a new, prosperous, modern and justice-loving Nepal.

Prime Minister Koirala pointed out the need of bringing small projects that reach the rural people rather than big projects, and expressed the confidence that the three year interim plan will fulfill the objectives and goals of the political parties to build a new Nepal.

Vice president of the NPC Dr. Jagdish Changra Pokhrel presented the detailed document of the three-year plan. The plan was  formulated as per the policy of the National Development Council meeting held three months ago.

The government has brought interim plan focusing the reconstruction of the physical structure destroyed during a decade-long insurgency.

The plan will be tabled at the next meeting of the cabinet for proceeding implementation.
