Dr. Jagdish Chandra Pokhrel, vice-chairman of the National Planning Commission (NPC) on Monday, said that the NPC would focus on peace and reconstruction, inclusive development and employment generation as per the common minimum programme of the eight political parties.
Speaking in an interaction programme at the Reporters' Club, Dr.Pokhrel said special investment would be made in sectors like roads and drinking water in the period of three years.
Dr. Pokhrel also said that the emphasis would be laid on employment generation programme.
"We have estimated around Rs 500 billion for the three-year interim plan," he said.
He also informed that some Rs 170 billion budget will be allocated for the coming fiscal year.
Talking about the government's commitment to develop the infrastructure, Dr. Pokhrel said that the government has plans to link some 69 districts by roads.
He also underscored the need to increase air seats to Nepal from Europe to boost the tourism industry.
