The Nepal Petroleum Dealers Association (NPDA) on Thursday unveiled the new retail prices of petrol, diesel and kerosene for various parts of the country.
Speaking at a press meet, president of NPDA Shiv Prasad Ghimire said that the prices will vary places to places as the private dealers will fix the retail prices after adding their commission in the wholesale prices.
Ghimire said that fuel is cheapest in Birgunj and most expensive in the far western region. The rates for the Kathmandu Valley were slightly higher than for the eastern and western regions.
According to a press release issued by the NPDA, the retail price of petrol per litre is Rs 73.50 from Rs 67.25 for Kathmandu valley. For diesel and kerosene price, they have been fixed at Rs 56.25 and Rs 51.02 respectively.
In Birgunj, petrol, diesel and kerosene are priced at Rs 72.29, Rs 55.03 and Rs 50.12 respectively. Whereas in Dipayal, per litre petrol costs Rs 75.66 and kerosene costs Rs 52.94 per litre, the most expensive among all the places.
For Biratnagar, the rates have been fixed at Rs 73.20 for a liter of petrol, Rs 55.86 for diesel and Rs 51.02 for kerosene.
The new retail prices of petroleum products in Butwal stand at Rs 73.41 for petrol, Rs 55.99 for diesel and Rs 50.97 for kerosene respectively. For Dhangadhi's new retail prices, the NPDA fixed at Rs 73.86 for petrol, Rs 56.72 for diesel and Rs 51.34 for kerosene respectively.
Likewise, the NPDA has announced retail prices of Rs 73.36 for petrol, Rs 56.12 for diesel and Rs 51.08 for kerosene in Pokhara.
In Nepalgunj, petrol, diesel and kerosene are priced at Rs 73.46, Rs 56.29 and Rs 51.11 per liter respectively.
Ghimire also informed that the retail price was applicable within the 15 km of depots and further than that the price attracts seven percent transportation cost per km.
