President Dr Ram Baran Yadav on Monday has urged all to condemn politics based on violence.

Addressing Inaugural ceremony of the NRN Day 2008 in Janakpur, organised by Non-Residential Nepalese Association (NRNA), President Dr. Yadav said that the violence in the country has not stopped because of politics backed by arms.

Expressing his sadness over the violence, President Dr. Yadav underscored the need for development of economy, society and religion to institutionalise the change gained at the cost of martyrs’ blood.

President Dr. Yadav said political movement for transformation of Nepal has been completed and that it is time for all to divert their concentration towards development.

He also expressed hopes that the government would take effective initiatives to invite the rebels to table and meet their appropriate demands.

NRNA is celebrating its anniversary in Janakpur this year with the aim to explore the possibility of involving NRNs in rural development in Nepal. NRNs from different parts of the world are taking part in the two-day regional debate programme with the NRN Day 2008's slogan ‘Non-Residential Nepalis in local transformation’.
