Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala has said the government was flexible in providing dual citizenship to the Non Resident Nepali (NRNs).
Inaugurating the third global conference of Non Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) in the capital on Monday, PM Koirala also urged NRNs to make investments in Nepal. The PM also expressed hope that the investments of the NRNs could play important role in poverty reduction and economic promotion.
Stating that the PM was striving himself for the democracy, freedom and peace, Koirala underscored that peace and political stability was essential for the investment security.
The PM also assured that the date of CA elections would be announced soon. Around 350 NRNs from 35 countries have gathered in Kathmandu to participate the conference.
NRNA international coordination council spokesperson Ganesh Ijam said the three days-long conference would discuss on foreign employment, and NRNs' investment in Nepal and role of NRNs in restructuring new Nepal.
Similarly, the conference would also discuss on organizational consolidation and implementation aspects of the declaration made earlier.
The NRNs have said they would raise fund amounting to one hundred million US dollar to make investments in Nepal. The NRNs have been saying they would make heavy investments in their homeland if the government enacts favorable laws and formulates suitable policy.
