Nepal Telecom (NT) on Monday is distributing SIM card of prepaid mobile to the subscriber who filled form on Friday. According to NT, it will distribute 25 thousands SIM on Monday. The subscribers who already filled the forms and were provided a slip in queues on Friday will get SIM card on priority basis and the distribution to all of them will last till Friday.
NT had faced problem in distributing SIM card on Friday as serpentine queues of costumers overwhelmed NT counters in Kathmandu valley turned disordered resulting in the clashes with police.
The NT has made the process of subscribing SIM easier this time. IT has been distributed SIM from 15 counters in Kathmandu valley.
Nepal Telecom has projected the distribution 3 hundred thousand of prepaid SIM within mid July. NT has failed to distribute SIM as per the demands of the customers so far.
According to NT, besides distributing 3 hundred thousands of SIM in Kathmandu valley in first phase, it is working out to distribute additional 6 hundred thousands of SIM throughout the country including the valley within coming six or seven months.
