Information on palace security system sought

A committee formed to formulate policy on providing security to the property of Narayanhiti palace nationalized by the government,  today called on security chiefs and sought information on the security system inside the palace.

Chief of the Palace Security Coordination Office Binod Basnet, Inspector General of Police Shyam Bhakta Thapa, royal emissary Bijaya Bahadur Khadka among other were present in the meeting. The meeting was held at Nepal Army headquarter Bhadrakali.

Joint secretary at Home Ministry Modraj Dotel coordinates the committee.

Dotel said the committee has initiated to receive the information on security system of the palace and would visit the palace for observation tomorrow.

He said the meeting discussed on the work plan on the security of the palace property. The committee has mandate to work out work plan within a week. Central Security Committee had formed this committee yesterday after the implementation of the declaration of the republic.
