Parliamentarians from Terai disrupted Thursday’s proceedings of the Interim Parliament demanding fulfillment of their demands.
The Madhesi MPs started chanting slogans and did not let today's sitting proceed stating the House should not run unless their 26-point demands are met.
Immediately after the session began today, Nepal Sadbhawana Party (Anandi-devi) MP Hridayesh Tripathi had put forward 26-point demands on behalf of the Madhesi parliamentarians.
Stating that the government did not form any judicial commission to investigate the Terai incident and that the deceased during the Madhesi andolan were not given the status of martyrs, Tripathi demanded that the government provide proper compensation to the deceased.
Tripathi also said that the election delineation commission had filed a report against the spirit of the Madhesi uprising and demanded a census at the earliest to delineate constituencies logically.
As MP Tripathi warned of not letting the House proceed, his fellow parliamentarians gheraoed the rostrum and chanted slogans.
Following the Madhesi MPs, the Maoist MPs too gheraoed the rostrum and demanded the government address the demands put forward by them yesterday.

Maoist lawmakers also demanded a public apology from the government for the raids on offices of Maoist-aligned Young Communist League (YCL) in the Kathmandu Valley. Police had searched the offices of YCL in the three districts on Sunday on suspicion of keeping illegal weapons.
Following the protest from the Madheshi and Maoist lawmakers, speaker of the interim parliament, Subash Nemwang adjourned the House session till 3.00 pm Monday.
