Petroleum Dealers Association (PDA) has decided to boycott the talks with the government stating that the government talks team had no full-fledged authority for decision. PDA chairman Shiva Prasad Ghimire said they broke down the talks as the talks team of the government was not authorized for final decision.
The fourth rounds of talks held between talks team of the government and PDA held today ended inconclusively.
Chairman Ghimire said the government talks team could not present concrete programs and policy neither the government could implement the agreements reached in the past. Ghimire said the dealers would sit in the negotiations once the government forms authorized talks team.
Concerning the long existing problem in the supply of petroleum products in Kathmandu, Government and the Petroleum Dealers Association had held discussions at the office of Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) in the capital city.
A team of representatives led by Gyan Darsan Udhas of Ministry of Trade and Industry and the representatives of PDA led by the Chairman Shiva Prasad Ghimire had participated in the discussions.
The Government and PDA had also held discussions on Saturday on the same issue, however, consensus was not reached.
