Demanding refund for the amount they paid to buy the fuel in increased rate, petroleum dealers have stalled distribution of petroleum products throughout the country today.
Following a directive of Nepal Petroleum Dealers Association (NPDA), dealers have stalled sale today. The government had rolled back the petro price hike yesterday after it faced wide public pressure. The government had hiked the price of petroleum products on Wednesday.
Issuing a press statement, NPDA said all the fuel bought in the increased price haven’t been sold. It has also asked the government to refund the differences in prices of the remaining fuel to the dealers.
Meanwhile, Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has ruled out the refund stating that the dealers had already profited from the fuel stockpile they had before the price hike.
