Indian ambassador to Nepal Shiv Shankar Mukharjee has said that India would continue its support to Nepal for peace process and development. The Indian envoy lent this assurance during the meet with Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala at latter's official residence Baluwatar on Monday.
During the meet, PM Koirala and Mukharjee discussed about the latest political situation of the country and other bilateral issues. They are also learnt to have discussed about the Bhutanese refugees' issue.
According to the sources, PM Koirala informed Mukharjee that the government would set the new date of Constituent Assembly (CA) polls as soon as possible. He also expressed his firm commitment to hold the polls within the stipulated time at any cost.
The Indian envoy also assured that Indian government would keep on its support to ongoing peace process and development of Nepal. Mukharjee is learnt to have stressed to the need of better law and order situation Nepal.
They also discussed Bhutanese refugees' issue which has been becoming most pressing for a few days after refugees announced voluntary repatriation. However, the Indian opinion in this regard is yet to come.
