The Constituent Assembly (CA) on Monday has fixed date of August 15 (Shrawan 31, Friday) for the election of new Prime Minister (PM) of the republican Nepal.
A meeting of the working management committee of the CA Monday morning decided the date to vote and to choose the PM.
According to reports, the nominations for the PM post will start at 11 am on Thursday at the CA Secretariat.
Following the directives issued by the President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav on Sunday, CA has started the process of electing the PM through majority votes of the CA members.
President Dr. Yadav had directed the CA Secretariat to start process of electing new PM in accordance with Article 38 (2) of the Interim Constitution after the parties failed to forge the consensus to elect PM and form new government within the given 10 days deadline.
First President of Nepal Dr. Ram Baran Yadav and Vice-president Paramananda Jha too were elected by the CA members' majority vote.
