Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala committed on Saturday that the government would compensate industries that suffered damages and loss during banda, strikes and riots.
During his visit to hometown Biratnagar, PM Koirala also consoled the entrepreneurs promising soft loans in order to support the operations of their business.
A delegation of industrialists based along the Sunsari-Morang industrial corridor met PM and apprised him of the problems they faced in operating businesses for about two months.
During the meet with PM Koirala, the delegation also informed that continued closures and strikes inflicted losses to the industries of over Rs. 100 millions.
Mahendra Golchha, coordinator of task force formed against 'banda' had forwarded delegation's six point demand to the PM.
The PM assured business and industry representatives to provide sufficient security and compensation. He also requested the businessmen to resume their businesses as usual.
The PM also appealed to the business community to cooperate with the government.
