Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala has met with the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Bhoj Raj Ghimire as well as other officials of the Election Commission (EC) today. In the meeting CEC and other officials are learnt to have discussed with the PM concerning on the issues of Constituent Assembly polls.
In his meeting with PM, CEC Ghimire asked the government for 90 days duration once all the legal provisions are finalised. He, however, urged the government to make the congenial climate in Terai region of Nepal to hold the election. He also asked the government to activate all the state mechanisms towards accelerating the electoral proceedings.
Ghimire also awared PM towards the obstacles to hold the election in the Terai region in present situation. Ghimire also laid stress with the PM to maintain the seven parties unity intact until the polls are held.
