Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala has urged political parties to keep the unity to implement republican system of governance in the country as the interim constitution has given top priority to the decision.
Issuing a press statement today, PM Koirala has also urged the parties to explore ways to form a coalition government after election results announced last week for a constituent assembly showed no party had a majority.
Expressing commitment to call the first meeting of the CA on scheduled time, the PM has called on other constituents of the Seven-Party alliance to take initiatives for the formation of a new government.
“It's time we focused our attention on our tasks ahead as per the people's verdict expressed through the election. The election results, too, have reflected the need of consensus, cooperation and unity,” the PM said in the statement.
Likewise, PM Koirala also expressed appreciation to the Election Commission, foreign observers, security agencies, civil society, journalists and general public who contributed in making the CA poll a success.
