Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala has ruled out the implementation of declaring republican order and adopting fully proportional representative electoral system which were recently passed by the ordinary majority of the lawmakers in the special session of interim legislature parliament.
Speaking to the media persons at his home in Biratnagar this morning, the PM said one-third majority of the lawmakers was required to implement the latest decisions of parliament and he saw no possibility of endorsing the proposals by one-third majority. He also said the agendas passed by the special session could be discussed once the regular session begins.
However, Koirala stressed on the continuation of seven party unity stating that he was ready to sacrifice for letting not the unity to break.
Responding to the queries asked by the media persons, the PM said the security would be beefed up after the regional administrator submitted its report. PM Koirala also commented that the murder of the journalist Birendra Sah resulted into huge loss to the reputation of the Maoist.
