The meeting between Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala and Maoist Chairman Prachanda held on Tuesday remained inconclusive on the formation of an interim government.
In one hour long meeting, Chairman Prachanda is learnt to have said PM Koirala that any decision made by ruling allies without Maoist's consent would be unacceptable for them. Another leader Dr. Baburam Bhatatrai who accompanied Prachanda said they urged Prime Minister Koirala to make consensus at the earliest regarding the formation of an interim government.
Similarly Maoist leaders are learnt to have criticized the government's move of promoting some security officials.
Koirala had reiterated his commitment to bring acceptable proposal on ministerial portfolios.
Before this, Maoist held meeting of central committee to decide whether or not to be a part of an interim government supposed to be formed 'soon'. However, the meeting remained inconclusive in this regard.
The Maoist is to continue the meeting on Wednesday. Emerging from the meeting, Maoist Spokesperson Krishna Bahadur Mahara said there was less possibility of Maoist's presence in the interim government.
He also said the Maoist might assist holding of the Constituent Assembly (CA) polls staying out of the government.
Most of the central members of the Maoists have purposed that the CPN-M should not be a part of the interim government. They have been accusing Nepali Congress of impeding early formation of the interim government by showing rigidity in the allocation of ministerial portfolio.
