The workers affiliated to the CPN-M on Wednesday forced all the shops across Pokhara city to close their business.
Maoist affiliated All Nepal Shop Workers' Association (ANSWA), who have been staging agitation with 17 points demand, forced to close down shops and commercial organizations across the city.
The agitating workers have been demanding for immediate implementation of Interim Labour Act, appointment letters to the workers working in commercial organizations, increment in their salaries, and public holiday for them, among others.
According to a source, agitating workers chanting slogans to fulfill their demands closed down shops in the major areas of Pokhara including Mahendrapul, Chipledhunga and Prithvi chowk.
Meanwhile, representatives from workers and members of Pokhara Chamber of Commerce and Industries (PCCI) are holding talks to resolve the issue, sources said.
