Seven demonstrators have been injured when police opened fire at them in Samakhusi Chowk, Kathmandu today. Demonstrators were protesting price hike in petroleum products recently announced by Nepal Oil Corporation.

Those injured include Bishnu Gauli and Subas Thapa (14) of Dhading, and Gore Bahadur   Gurung (13) among other.

Bishnu Gauli sustains serious bullet injuries on his forehead. All the injured are undergoing treatment at Bimayak Hospital, Gangobu.

The police had also opened tear gas to disperse the mob. The Kathmandu valley remained tensed whole day today. However, it turned normal in the evening after the government rolled back the price hike.
