Top leaders of eight political parties have been brainstorming on undecided key issues at Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koiralal’s official residence Baluwater.
The meeting that started at around 10 am took break at 1 pm. Before the break, the leaders had discussed on fixing the date to the Constituent Assembly (CA) polls.
Prime Minister Koirala had proposed to fix date for CA poll forgetting bitter experience of the past. Leaders of seven political parties criticized the PM for his inability to call the meeting even at a time of long disruption in the parliamentary proceedings.
In the meeting, Maoist chairman Prachanda and Secretary General of CPN-UML Madhav Kumar Nepal insisted that meeting should review the causes for inability to hold the CA polls in May/June.
The leaders said the meeting is concentrated in finding the way outs in resolving existing political deadlock. The meeting is expected to reach consensus for the resumption of parliamentary proceeding.
The leaders have said that this meeting would find out the solution on existing turmoil in Melamchi Drinking Water project, schools, petrol supply among others.
