Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has reduced duration of power cut by an hour to be effective from today. The power cut has been reduced to seven hours from earlier eight hours a day.

The NEA has eased the power cut as Kulekhani-II started to generate 16 MW electricity. The NEA said that there would not be load shedding from 12 mid night to 4 am. Similarly, the load shedding imposed from 4 am to 8 am has also been decreased to three hours while the load shedding existing from 9 am to 1 pm has also been reduced to one hour. However, the power cut schedule of 5 pm to 9 pm is unchanged.

The NEA has reduced 12 sectioned load shedding schedule to 11 sections where the NEA is to cut power in seven groups.
