Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' on Wednesday said that there is no alternative to public-private partnership for the development of Nepal.
Addressing the opening ceremoney of a two day symposium on public- private partnership (PPP) in the capital, PM 'Prachanda' said that Nepal need not only peace but also an economic development to sustain that peace.
PM 'Prachanda' urged the international investors to cooperate with the private sectors and invest in the big projects in Nepal.
At the same programme, Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FNCCI) Chairperson Kush Kumar Joshi said that the private sector is ready to go hand in hand with the government for the economic development. He has also urged the government to form a high level committee for the promotion and development of private and public sectors.
The two-day national symposium which has begun in the capital with a slogan 'Foundation of Economic Development through Public-Private Partnership', will conclude on Thursday.
The symposium has been jointly organised by Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FNCCI), Ministry of Local Development and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is to promote private sector's investment in economic development.
According to the FNCCI, the symposium will focus on the possibilities of public and private partnerships in six areas of interest that includes tourism, local development, education, health sectors, agriculture and infrastructure development.
