Maoist top brass on Friday have met with the envoys from the European Union and discussed the latest political developments of Nepal including the constituent assembly (CA) elections.
The meeting which was held at German Embassy in Gyaneshwore, ambassadors and the representatives of the EU countries had asked the Maoist leadership about the date of the CA polls, eight-party meeting, proceedings of stalled House and the activities of the Maoist-aligned Young Communist League (YCL).
During the meeting, the team of the EU diplomats led by German Ambassador Franz E Ring had sought their attention towards the deteriorating situation in the country with Maoist chairman Prachanda.
Stating that the CA election date had still not been announced because of the failure to hold the eight-party meet, the Maoist leaders had said that the top level meet would discuss a broad range of issues and try to seek their solutions.
