Chairman of CPN-Maoist Prachanda has said feudal and reactionary forces were active in hatching the plot to influence an interim government to be formed. Prachanda said the palace was investing millions of rupees to hatch conspiracy to disrupt the unity of people and national integrity.
Addressing the second national conference of Maoist’s wing Newa Rastriya Mukti Morcha in the capital on Friday, Prachanda said such forces were active in conspiring even at the time when eight parties were meeting to discuss on the date of Constituent Assembly (CA) polls and the formation of an interim government.
Sating that Nepal was in the threshold of institutionalizing republican set up, Prachanda appealed to unite people of various castes, languages, region, class and sex. against the conspiracy. “We are in the threshold of opportunity and potentials both, still there are some forces conspiring against us, if we are not united to launch decisive attack, we have to face drastic disaster” he added.
Saying that his party clarified Madheshi people about the issues they raised, Prachanda claimed that the palace was hiring gangs from across the boarder to disrupt the unity of people.
Taking credit of 12 years ‘long people’s war’, Chairman Prachanda said that the monarchy was being striped of its power very lately as ‘traditional political leadership’ was not paying heed to the problems his party raised.
Speaking on the same occasion, another leader of CPN-M, Dr. Baburam Bhattrai criticized the government for its move to promote high Nepal Army officials on Thursday. Dr. Bhattarai also accused the palace of hiding the weapons.
