Reacting to the remarks made by some leaders and ministers of ruling allies that the Maoists were impeding the reinstatement of police posts and VDC secretaries, Maoist chairman Prachanda has said his party was not obstructing that process rather they (Maoists) would help the government in this regard.
Issuing a press statement on Wednesday, Maoist chairman Prachanda has appealed entire party line to be assistive in reactivating the police posts throughout the country.
“We had not protested the act of reactivating police posts and VDC secretaries, we had just said it would be better if the government would make discussion with us prior to taking that step”-chairman Prachanda stated in the statement.
Prachanda has also expressed his commitment to help accomplish the constituent assembly election within mid June stating that his party was ready to make any kinds of sacrifice to meet the deadline of the election.
Chairman Prachanda said that the allegation leveled by some leaders at the ministerial portfolio against the Maoist was reversed to the ill intention of themselves.
“If interim constitution was not promulgated and interim legislature was not declared to hold the election within the end of mid June, the justification of our decision will go in vain and government should be responsible for the result”- the press release states.
Some leaders of ruling allies had remarked Maoist as an opponent of the constituent assembly election as “they were obstructing the re-establishment of police posts and VDC secretaries.”
Earlier, Prime Minister GP Koirala said that Maoist chairman Prachanda had agreed to reinstate the police posts and resumption of VDC secretaries works though some Maoist leaders claimed that the government took that step without consulting them.
Meanwhile, Home Minister Krishna Prasad Sitaula said that the growing row between the coalition government and the Maoists would end by mid-January when the interim constitution was proclaimed.
