Nepalese living and working abroad have asked the government to ensure their voting rights outside Nepal so that they will be able cast their votes from where they live.

According to a joint statement on Monday, Nepali Janasamparka Samiti (NJS), India-based Prabasi Nepali Sangh and Akhil Bharat Nepali Ekata Samaj (Mul Prabaha) urged the government for their voting rights and asked for their representation in the upcoming Constituent Assembly (CA) polls.

Asking all political parties to honour the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA), the government should promptly control the activities of Young Communist League (YCL) to maintain peace and security in the country, the statement further added.

The Prabasi organizations had submitted a memorandum to Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala with a three-point demand on Saturday. They had also submitted a memorandum to Speaker Subash Nembang, Minister for Peace and Reconstruction Ram Chandra Poudel and CPN (UML), Nepali Congress and United Front Nepal in this regard.
