Newly elected republican Nepal's First President Ram Baran Yadav and Vice-president Paramananda Jha on Wednesday took oath of office and secrecy amid a ceremeny at the presidential palace, Shital Niwas, Kathmandu
Chief Justice Kedar Prasad Giri administered the oath of office and secrecy to the President.
As the President is also supreme commander of Nepali Army (NA), President Dr. Yadav also received a guard of honor from the NA.
After swearing in, President Dr.Yadav visited the Office of the President and officially took over his duty as the First President of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal.
Talking to journalists bravely, President Dr. Yadav said that he will dedicate himself to institutionalise republic, to draft new constitution and to maintain peace and communal harmony.
President Dr. Yadav also administered the oath of office and secrecy to Vice-president Parmananda Jha at the same historic ceremony. Jha was wearing Dhoti-kurta and took oath in Hindi language.
Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala, acting chair of the Constituent Assembly K.B Gurung, ministers, head of foreign diplomatic missions, Top leaders of political parties and CA members were also present at the swearing in ceremony.
Meanwhile, after swearing in ceremony Wednesday evening, Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala has tendered his resignation to President Dr. Yadav. PM's resignation has opened the door for the formation of a new government.
